I have today resigned from Scrap Sanity Design Team.
My life is busy at the moment professionally and personally, so I feel I cannot put in 100%.
I have enjoyed my short stint on the DT and feel honoured to have worked with the ladies involved.

Thank you for the opportunity, I have made many wonderful friends,
happy crafting and I'll see you when life is not so 'full on'!

Crazy For You and Scrap Sanity!

As you may already know, the lovely Tiff Sawyer asked me to be on her design team as her card specialist over at Scrap Sanity.  I am honoured and excited to be part of her fabulous team and vision for the future!

Every month I will be making at least two cards using products available at Scrap Sanity.  The first will be a simple folded card, portrait or landscape.  The second will be using the same or almost the same set of supplies to make a card that is not-so-normal.  I have a number of construction cards to get through by December and have started my first post with an Easel Card.

Please excuse the late night photography and dodgy blogpost while I should be packing as I move house Saturday!!

Here is the normal card -
A Simple Card using:
Basic Grey Kissing Booth PP
Red c/s
My Favourite Things - A Layered Label die
Some old rub ons i had laying around created the greeting
Flourish with a Bling pearls in antique gold
Tim Holtz Alterations Die - Tattered Floral (for the rose, instructions below)
add for the construction card - Flourish with a Bling - Chloe Antique Gold

step 1 - cut 3 of the large 6 petal flowers..
step 2 - cut a line to the centre, then one petal off, then 2 petals off...
step 3 - roll the edges under with something narrow...
step 4 - close the gaps by sticking one petal to another - see the X; but also roll and secure the 2petals and the 1 petal you removed...
step 5 - they should look like this - just place then inside each other...
I added a Flourish with a Bling in the centre:

Now for the Easel card:
I cut a strip of c/s and folded at the points you see in the pic below
Only put tape on the bottom half of the front of the card
and decided it was too plain and needed some bling so lifted off the label and added some then put the label back down!
Stick the rose to the inside of the card with some excess bling and that becomes the stopping object to keep the easel up!
And of course don't forget a matching envelope!!

Thanks for stopping by - and I hope you are inspired to create an easel card too!

Magical

I can't believe I'm sharing yet another layout with you!!

I simply adore this photo of Erin, taken in 2006 in Mum and Dad's garden.  She was such a poser that day - I have quite a few other shots I will scrap as the opposite page for our albums.

This layout began from a humble sketch (no.133) found on the fantastic Twisted Sketches blog.  The twist was "Jewels" but I think I covered it with all the beads?  Or perhaps the "jewellery'? LOL

And a close up of the cluster - I LOVE these gorgeous large flowers from My2Angels - they have the colour changing leaves and being white - I just used some distress ink with my applicator to apply some colour and then added diamond dust...

As an almost first time sewer on layouts - I remembered this tip I was told years ago - if you are sewing ribbon on your layouts - first attach it with some double sided tape and then sewing will be easier as you won't have to hold and reposition all the time!!  The 3mm express it tape was perfect for this (it doesn't mess with your needle making it stick!) - especially as it was FREE with my first order for the year at My2Angels!!

Ingredients:
PP - assorted paper from about 8 years ago!
Twiddleybitz - Butterflies (BUT007)
Flourish With a Bling - Jasmine White Puffy
My2Angels - 3mm dble sided tape
My2Angels - Large white flower
Tattered Angels Glimmer mists - Forest green and pink bubblegum
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Spun Sugar
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Victorian Velvet
Doily for Masking
Kindy Glitz - Clear
Miscellaneous Ribbons
Miscellaneous pink flower spray

Every Single Day

As a gift for my man for our 4 year anniversary/valentine's day present, I have decided to scrap an A4 album of the things that he and I have done together.  I have done a single layout for it and will no doubt do a matching page a bit later as I really dislike single layouts in a dedicated feature album - the pages just don't seem to flow and aren't as pleasing to the eye! PLUS going from 12x12 inch layouts to A4 - I need the extra space a double layout will provide!

Tiff Sawyer over at Scrap Sanity challenged everyone (in the forum) for December to journal on a layout - as quite correctly - she noted a lot of times, people don't!  They lose the purpose of capturing the memory in the process of making 'pretty pages'.  Better late than never but this layout fitted the bill perfectly!!

Here's the layout...

And here's a close up...

I love the colour scheme and the antique Flourish with a Bling is just gorgeous!!

The journalling is a saying I found on Pinterest - it reads...
I want to hold your hand,
Laugh at your jokes,
walk by your side,
snuggle on the couch,
look into your eyes,
talk about whatever,
and Kiss Your Lips -
Every Single Day.

Ingredients:
AED PP - Christmas Celebration, Majestic Maroon
               - A Formal Affair - Script and flowers
Kaiser transparencies
Twiddleybitz (alpha005B) Nero itty bitty alphas
Twiddleybitz (nero006) Nero wrought Iron Flourish
Flourish with a Bling Chloe Antique Gold Flourish
Flourish with a Bling Antique Gold Pearls
Tim Holtz mini paper rosettes die (I only bought this the other day - my cousin found it for me!!!)
Prima Pebble
Paper Doily from $2 shop

I hope you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for stopping by :-)
