CSI 3 - Just The Way I am.

When this Case File was revealed at CSI last friday I nearly died!!  I knew straight away which photo I wanted to use and what I wanted to do with it!!

I used a photo taken of me a couple of years ago when I actually wore make-up, first had a nose ring, and my hair had somewhat grown back after "Crop for a Cure", the colours were perfect.

Here's the close-up of all the fabulous bits and pieces from My2Angels that I used.  They were absolutely perfect for the colour scheme!  The new tile is gorgeous - cream, stamped in brown with a brass butterfly and jewelled centre attached.  And of course I used more Twiddleybitz and some Flourish With A Bling Pearls!

TCR #95 - Remember This Moment...

OMG  The Colour Room had me super inspired tonight the moment I looked at the palette AND the sketch.  Lucky for me I had the opportunity to sit down straight away and scrap!  Here's the gorgeous Palette and sketch -

And here's my layout:

And my customary close-up of course!

The colour palette appealed to the romantic in me and I printed the photo off straight away.  It was taken at my parents' Christmas in July Party 2011, hence the Merry Christmas Bell!  I think the Bo Bunny Enchanted Papers were perfect and a bit of a mist on a Tim Holtz mask alters the paper just that little bit to make it "mine".  I love the red pearl Flourish on the left side and all the flowers with the kindy glitz.  That day was a happy day for me amongst a lot of dark days with my depression so the title and quote was exactly perfect - Remember this moment.  There was nowhere else I wanted to be.

Ingredients:
Bo Bunny Enchanted Rose PP
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Forest Green
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Key Lime Pie
Crafty Notion Colorspray - Meadow
Crafty Notion Colorspray - Poppy
Twiddleybitz - Fence (BAS014)
Twiddleybitz - circle flower frame
Tim Holtz Mask - Flourish

I "heart" U

I love red, black, and white for a colour combination and what better time of year or theme than Valentine's Day?  I have been hoarding these Bo Bunny Papers for a while for just this project and knew how I wanted to use it; I had to keep it 'soft' so frayed the edges with my craft knife.

I had this idea to sew the middle of the heart and that morphed into having two layers; then it looked too plain on the card next to the fancy "U" with the floral chain; so I added the white rose to the bottom layer; then I added bling to the "I" for balance but wanted more definition for the centre of the heart; so added a beautiful silver pin with the little heart bead at the top.

For the inside I used my new Blazing Red Stazon for the stamp and then decided to 'snazz' things up a bit using the "Adore" pin with the red bead - I love how it turned out!!  A matching envelope as usual and wallah!!

And a side angle shot so you can see the inside of the card too:

I love the end result - it's so romantic!

Ingredients:
White Pearl Card and Envelope
Red Cardstock
Bo Bunny Patterned Paper - Enchanted
Twiddleybitz - I, U Large Letters
Twiddleybitz - Heart (for template) (BAS013)
My 2 Angels - silver pin
My 2 Angels - White rose
My 2 Angels - Charming Floral
My 2 Angels - "Adore" pin
Flourish With A Bling - Red Pearls
Stazon Ink - Black and Blazing Red
Papercraft Clear Cling Stamps - Valentines

YUM - Supreme Kitchen

Anne-Marie Cox posted a sketch challenge recently on the Twiddleybitz Ning Forum, I thought I'd take her up on that challenge -

This is my take on the sketch:

I made these surprise parcels a couple of weeks ago and they were delicious! I also swapped the ham for some garlic marinated prawns in one parcel; and for the meat from 2 honey soy chicken kebabs for another parcel... there wasn't much left!!

Here's a close up of the charm and my handwritten journalling as you know I can't resist a good close-up!!  (I'm growing to like the handwritten thing...)

Ingredients:
Kaiser PP - Nan's Favourite Collection
Tim Holtz Kraft-Core no4
Twiddleybitz - Supreme Kitchen
Twiddleybitz - YUM large letters
Crafty Notions colorspray - Poppy
Tattered Angels Glimmer MIst - Scarlet
Stampin' Up Stamp'n'write Marker - Chocolate Chip
My 2 Angels Charm - Plate With Cutlery

TCR #94 - XO

Well I have finally taken part in a "The Color Room" challenge.  I didn't use the sketch but I did feel quite inspired by the colour palette and had the perfect photo - here's my layout - the journalling reads:

"You're such an affectionate little boy, I hope you never grow out of showing it"

Here's the Challenge:

And a closeup to show the cluster, the shimmer from the coloursprays, and the Distress Stickles on the butterfly...

Because The Flourish was white and I needed yellow or off-white - I used the distress inks to colour the puffy jasmine - antique linen with a touch of mustard seed worked a treat!!

Merci PP - Vintage Rose and Timeless collections

Twiddleybitz - Chippy Vine Hinge (HIN002)
Twiddleybitz - Chicken Mesh Wire (WIR002)

Don't Count The Miles...

Twisted Sketches is a fabulous blog.  Anam and the team post a sketch and really beautiful examples every week, alternating between cards and layouts.  I am so happy to be counted on the card team!! This week was a 'week off' for me but I loved the idea of the sketch and it suited my desire to try my hand at a step-card using more of the My 2 Angels products I got in my DT kit for January.

Here's my take on the sketch and naturally I did an envelope to match :-)

Here's the sketch - The twist was sparkle... I used glittery cardstock :-P
I used some gorgeous products from My 2 Angels again...  they really do work brilliantly, even if I do say so myself!!  I especially love the big brass flower and the love pin!

Ingredients:
Precut and scored Card and envelope (I adjusted to make it a step-card)
Black and Cream Cardstock
Dienamics Stamp & Die Set - First Class Friend
Stazon ink - Black
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Vintage Photo
Tim Holtz Distress Stickles

Today & Everyday

Another gorgeous photo that I have been dying to scrap for so long, this time it's my Riley...

I didn't want to lose the innocence in the photo by making it a real "boy" layout so wanted it softer...  Tracy at My2Angels answered my prayers the other day when she handed me a brand new product - an embellishment kit in blues with some flowers and a gorgeous altered flower with a charm - called charming florals (she is sooo good at these - checkout her charming chains too!!).  Naturally as I'm so addicted to her gorgeous hat pins I had to add one to the layout too :-)

I love the new Twiddleybitz Bird on a Branch so I had fun glimmer-misting it and then using enamels to make the bird blue - but my favourite part of that is sewing it to the page with my machine (who says they are really for material and making clothes)!!!

I also love my new Tim Holtz Tab Die (Thank you to the awesome Rachel Pepper Walsh for helping me figure out how to stack it in my bigshot!) and how perfectly the little stamped saying fits.  I have hand journaled on the patterned paper (did you see it straight off or did you have to look for it?).  The foliage the Twiddleybitz leaves provides really breaks up the blue - but nicely; I really like the way they all sit behind the fence and only the charming flower is hanging over.  I love the definition inking around the edges gives - my tried and true favourite technique I think!!

Ingredients:
PP - Autumn Leaves from about 2004!
White Cardstock
Twiddleybitz - "Bird on a Branch" (BIR014)
Twiddleybitz - Fence (BAS014)
Twiddleybitz - Fern leaves
Tattered Angels Glimmer mists - Forest Green and Sea Glass
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Stormy Sky
Tim Holtz Alterations - Tab Die
Tim Holtz Distress Stickles - clear rock candy - on the top part of the fence (you can't see it in the photo)
Colourful Thoughts Embossing Enamel - Sapphire
Stampin Write Marker - Brocade Blue
Papercraft Clear Cling Stamp
Miscellaneous Blue Bow, clear blue Circle charms, white paint, and green cotton.

Thank you so much for stopping by - I hope you like my layout.  I have plenty of links for you to take throughout the post so you can find the goodies I'm talking about!

Magical

I can't believe I'm sharing yet another layout with you!!

I simply adore this photo of Erin, taken in 2006 in Mum and Dad's garden.  She was such a poser that day - I have quite a few other shots I will scrap as the opposite page for our albums.

This layout began from a humble sketch (no.133) found on the fantastic Twisted Sketches blog.  The twist was "Jewels" but I think I covered it with all the beads?  Or perhaps the "jewellery'? LOL

And a close up of the cluster - I LOVE these gorgeous large flowers from My2Angels - they have the colour changing leaves and being white - I just used some distress ink with my applicator to apply some colour and then added diamond dust...

As an almost first time sewer on layouts - I remembered this tip I was told years ago - if you are sewing ribbon on your layouts - first attach it with some double sided tape and then sewing will be easier as you won't have to hold and reposition all the time!!  The 3mm express it tape was perfect for this (it doesn't mess with your needle making it stick!) - especially as it was FREE with my first order for the year at My2Angels!!

Ingredients:
PP - assorted paper from about 8 years ago!
Twiddleybitz - Butterflies (BUT007)
Flourish With a Bling - Jasmine White Puffy
My2Angels - 3mm dble sided tape
My2Angels - Large white flower
Tattered Angels Glimmer mists - Forest green and pink bubblegum
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Spun Sugar
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Victorian Velvet
Doily for Masking
Kindy Glitz - Clear
Miscellaneous Ribbons
Miscellaneous pink flower spray

Every Single Day

As a gift for my man for our 4 year anniversary/valentine's day present, I have decided to scrap an A4 album of the things that he and I have done together.  I have done a single layout for it and will no doubt do a matching page a bit later as I really dislike single layouts in a dedicated feature album - the pages just don't seem to flow and aren't as pleasing to the eye! PLUS going from 12x12 inch layouts to A4 - I need the extra space a double layout will provide!

Tiff Sawyer over at Scrap Sanity challenged everyone (in the forum) for December to journal on a layout - as quite correctly - she noted a lot of times, people don't!  They lose the purpose of capturing the memory in the process of making 'pretty pages'.  Better late than never but this layout fitted the bill perfectly!!

Here's the layout...

And here's a close up...

I love the colour scheme and the antique Flourish with a Bling is just gorgeous!!

The journalling is a saying I found on Pinterest - it reads...
I want to hold your hand,
Laugh at your jokes,
walk by your side,
snuggle on the couch,
look into your eyes,
talk about whatever,
and Kiss Your Lips -
Every Single Day.

Ingredients:
AED PP - Christmas Celebration, Majestic Maroon
               - A Formal Affair - Script and flowers
Kaiser transparencies
Twiddleybitz (alpha005B) Nero itty bitty alphas
Twiddleybitz (nero006) Nero wrought Iron Flourish
Flourish with a Bling Chloe Antique Gold Flourish
Flourish with a Bling Antique Gold Pearls
Tim Holtz mini paper rosettes die (I only bought this the other day - my cousin found it for me!!!)
Prima Pebble
Paper Doily from $2 shop

I hope you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for stopping by :-)

My Studio

I have finally got some photos of my new studio to show you.  I am so excited - I have actually been scrapbooking again.  It's very inspirational to have a dedicated space and it's so easy to keep clean and tidy!  I'm also less cranky and Erin often comes to create with me on the weekend!!

I have converted two thirds of my garage into a studio.  The carpet was $55 per metre but I managed to get it for $10mtr and it was 'about 3 mtrs worth' according tot he salesman at Bunnings - BUT it was just over 5 mtrs long - and 6 mtrs wide!!  Bargain of the century :-)

I have room dividers borrowed from work as we don't use them anymore and I bought 4 bookcases from Deals Direct for $39 each.  Behind the dividers I have all our camping gear and the kids bikes and scooters etc, I can have the roller door open and no dust because the bikes etc and dividers stop it!

The white baskets are from a corner shop - they had no price on so he sold them to me for $1 each (they're $2.95-$3.75 depending which Coles you buy them from!) The jars for all my ribbons - sorted by colour, are old coffee jars from Mum's work - it must be quite stressful there!

My un-wood-mounted stamps go in the CD cases in the racks - another bargain I paid $5 each for the racks and $5 for packs of 10 cases :-) and my metal paper racks were on the discounted pile at Stampantics before it closed.

The torso is a project I have to do, and the big-arse drawers that hide my messyness was a bargain for $40 from the lovely Lisa Kamphius!

I have 1 dining table as my work table - Erin has one end, I have the other.  Then I have another dining table (extendable) for my sewing machine, overlocker, electronic cutter, printer, iron, and selphy printer.
I have the computer desk for my Mac, and 'office' stuff, and my stereo although I play most music through itunes on the Mac now.

I have decided that each week i will post a tip and photos on organising your scrap space... then I'd love to see some of your efforts too -  would you be interested???  Let me know in the comments for this post.

Thanks for droppin by!
